Background
The Continuing Education Program (CEP) started its activities
in 1979/80 academic year. Since its inception the Program
has been responding to the educational needs of those who
could not get the opportunity for tertiary level education
in the regular day-time program. The College, through its
CEP coordinating office, has been trying its level best to
provide educational opportunities for civil servants and employees
of different non-governmental organizations (NGO) in its evening
and kiremt in-service programs as long as they satisfy the
admission requirements of the College. In general, CEP provides
a golden opportunity for employees of governmental and non-governmental
organizations and the private sector since it enables them
to pursue part-time study without losing their jobs. It also
offers a chance for high school graduates to prepare themselves
for future employment opportunities.
Based on the demands of various governmental and non-governmental
organizations and individuals, the CEP office has also started
organizing Computer Training and other short-term courses
at a Certificate level. At the moment there is a high demand
for short-term courses as well as for Diploma and Degree programs
which could be offered either in the Evening Program or during
the summer vacation (Kiremt). In response to such demands,
the College has started Kiremt in-service Diploma program
in General Agriculture and in Home Science and Technology
and Special Kirmet Degree Program in Plant Production and
Dryland Farming. Moreover, the CEP office is making the necessary
study and preparations to launch other programs for which
there is a high demand.
Objectives
To provide higher education opportunity in the evening
program for education seekers who could not get the chance
in the regular program.
To provide Kiremt in-service training to upgrade the
professional competence of the trainees.
To provide different short-term courses that could assist
the development needs of the country.

By expanding its capacity, the ACA-CEP has opened new Kiremt
Programmes (degree and diploma) since 1997/98, and evening
degree programmes since 1999/00 academic years. The newly
opened programmes are indicated below.
